The Senior Coordinator, Corporate Relations and Membership, is responsible for managing and growing the corporate membership program and providing support for corporate relations, generating revenue of at least $800,000 to $1 million annually. In collaboration with the Associate Director, Corporate Relations, this position is responsible for pipeline building and acquisition, including identification, solicitation and cultivation of current and new corporate members. The Senior Coordinator provides exceptional customer service to corporate partners, ensures timely fulfillment of member benefits, and provides support for reporting and other stewardship of corporate partners.

Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with the understanding the position may require evening hours per department events.



  • Oversight of the Corporate Membership program
    - In collaboration with the Associate Director, Corporate Relations, strategize and solicit Corporate Memberships, including pipeline building, writing and production of renewal letters, proposals, and promotional materials, and generating and reviewing financial and statistical reports.
    - Conduct research to identify new potential members and develop targeted strategies for networking and marketing corporate membership program to increase the number of corporate members. Attend networking events in Greater Boston.
    - Manage Corporate Membership renewal cycles and solicitations. Identify current members who are prospects for upgrades and implement plans to increase their membership levels. Help identify members who may also be prospects for sponsorship or other engagement opportunities.
    - Develop and implement a regular schedule of communication to corporate members, including a monthly e-newsletter focused on corporate partnerships, twice annual renewal letters, and regular stewardship updates. Collaborate with Marketing and Communications, Donor Relations, and other internal departments on newsletters, brochures, and collateral materials.
    - Coordinate interactions with other Aquarium departments to fulfill corporate membership benefits.
    - Manage regular tracking of member payments, generation of renewal mailings, and timely benefit package fulfillment. Maintain member records in Raiser's Edge and track benefits usage in ATMS.

  • Participate in planning and execution of Corporate Appreciate Night, The Tide young professionals group events, and other related events.

  • Support management and recruitment strategies for The Tide young professionals group. Identify and leverage strategies to engage corporate partner participation in The Tide.

  • Support stewardship of corporate partners and special initiatives, including drafting of progress reports and proposals and ensuring appropriate partner recognition.

  • Update the Corporate Partner section of the New England Aquarium website. Ensure appropriate recognition of corporate members and appropriate use of member and Aquarium logos in promotional materials.

  • Meet annual targets for corporate partner contacts and Corporate Membership revenue.

  • Support other special projects and performs other position-related duties as assigned, including general administrative tasks such as coordinating mailings, to support Institutional Giving and Development Department goals.


Minimum Training and Experience

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, management/business, or related field and 3 5 years of experience in marketing and/or advertising, customer relations and/or fundraising, or affinity groups or trade associations, preferably in a non-profit setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of best practices in customer/donor relations. Outstanding relationship and organizational skills required.

  • Marketing skills required.

  • Strong writing and research skills.

  • Excellent communication skills ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with potential and current funders and corporate members.

  • Must be able to work independently and to demonstrate creativity, flexibility and initiative.

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across multiple teams in a complex organization.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, and Raiser's Edge and Luminate preferred.

  • Must be available for some evening and weekend events.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

  • Interest in ocean conservation preferred.
