The Sr. Talent Partner optimizes the talent acquisition process to be inclusive and equitable and attracts top talent to support our mission of protecting the blue plant. The Partner acts as a brand ambassador for New England Aquarium and builds innovative programs to engage talent - including those from underrepresented backgrounds, partners with hiring managers facilitating the process and providing proactive and timely communication throughout each search, and embeds accountability for investing in hiring a diverse workforce into every hiring manger's role.

This is a unique opportunity to lead organization-wide diversity recruiting efforts as part of the Talent and Culture team.

SCHEDULE

This is a full-time position offering a comprehensive benefits package. The schedule is Monday-Friday with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule working a mix of remote and on-site days.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Responsible for Service Excellence throughout the recruitment and onboarding cycle by fully executing the recruiting process. Work closely with hiring managers to understand recruitment needs. Develop customized recruitment strategies and facilitate the process of leading in-take meetings, writing compelling job postings, overseeing interviewing, leading debrief sessions, guiding the selection process, and negotiating offers.
  2. Provide training and coaching to hiring managers on interview techniques and best practices in recruiting and onboarding including related legal requirements.
  3. Manage multiple, complex searches and create innovative sourcing strategies to identify and engage the most qualified talent.
  4. Develop a comprehensive recruiting playbook that thoughtfully engages the executive team on talent strategy, extensively maps the market, and effectively engages and nurtures external candidates.
  5. Serve as the subject matter specialist in sophisticated sourcing techniques and drive diversity sourcing initiatives. Network with and proactively reach out to minorities, female candidates, people with disabilities and other under-represented groups. Develop and maintain an effective pipeline and network of diverse talent.
  6. Own the ATS, train users and maximize the use of this technology. Drive process improvements to help make the hiring process more effective, efficient and positive for both hiring managers and candidates.
  7. Track, analyze and report recruitment metrics and affirmative action data. Update Affirmative Action Plan and establish goals annually.
  8. Contribute to a positive onboarding experience facilitating communications, new hire orientation and training and assisting hiring managers in creating a positive onboarding experience for their new hires. Serve as a resource to new hires and managers throughout the introductory period and beyond.
  9. Serve on the newly envisioned Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council. Implement diversity initiatives that support affirmative action hiring goals, talent integration, and other projects related to creating and maintaining an inclusive work culture.
  10. Conduct exit interviews. Collect data and follow up with managers to create remediation plans as needed. Provide feedback and data from exit interviews to inform engagement efforts.
  11. Collaborate with members of the human resources team to provide a high level of service to staff and managers and assist with other HR generalist responsibilities including, but not limited to, employee recognition, communications and resolution of employee relations issues. Participate actively in broad HR initiatives and projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Training and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 of years recruiting experience with a minimum of 3 years experience delivering recruiting programs that engage emerging talent from underrepresented backgrounds.
  • Certification in Diversity Recruiting.
  • Demonstrated skills in sourcing, pipelining, and networking and extensive experience with sourcing tools and best practices.
  • Experience working in an environment that requires a sense of immediacy, ability to manage competing demands, receive constructive feedback and maintain adaptability and flexibility.
  • Experience in a Human Resources department, exposure to generalist duties and experience conducting training programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of applicable Federal and state employment laws and Human Resources best practices related to staffing, employee relations, affirmative action and training.
  • Experience placing senior-level and niche candidates.
  • An analytical mindset with proven experience using data and data-driven insights to support decisions and drive action.
  • A commitment to providing a high level of service to all stakeholders, demonstrating approachability and openness.
  • Proven success in building engaging working relationships through trust, collaboration, and direct communication.
  • Ability to communicate clear and concise information to employees at all levels of the organization in verbal, written, electronic, and other communication formats.
  • Capable of prioritizing work duties for maximum efficiency and working independently to maintain service levels.
  • A high level of initiative and creativity, as well as intuitive problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects from beginning to end utilizing modern project management practices and tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Applicant Tracking Systems, and HRIS.
