In this newly created role, the successful candidate will assist with facilitating a culture of engagement, inclusion, strong leadership values and coaching.  S/he will develop and maintain excellent relationship with and proactively partner with HR team members, NEAq leaders and employees to identify and implement best practices that result in meaningful engagement across the organization.  This individual will bring knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends, creative and innovative thinking, and experience working with a variety of stakeholders, as well as strong project management, communications and presentation skills.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Employee Engagement:  Partner with HR, NEAq leaders and employees to identify and implement best practices that result in meaningful engagement across the organization. Improve, increase and diversify internal employee communications to facilitate engagement.

 

Diversity and Inclusion:  Assist with establishing diversity and inclusion strategies and initiatives that contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment. Engage current employees and attract and retain diverse talent.

 

Performance Management: Assist with cultivating a high performance culture of accountability and goal attainment; advise, educate and coach leaders and managers to implement effective performance management tools and techniques to create and sustain a high-performing and engaged workforce.

 

Leadership Development:  Partner with HR and NEAq leadership to identify and understand leadership and organizational development needs.  Assist with research and recommendation of innovative best practices, solutions and resources to promote a strong leadership and coaching culture, support employees to meet current and future performance standards; and identify development opportunities, as appropriate.

 

Project Management:  Lead or participate in the design, development, and delivery of HR programs that improve efficiency and enhance engagement.  Develop and implement project plans that define, support and drive key HR projects. 

 

HR Generalist: Perform various HR generalist responsibilities that support and enhance employee engagement and employee development. Proactively identify opportunities, analyze and make recommendations to assure HR best practices for HR process improvement and solutions to organizational challenges that affect employees.

  

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Training and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources.  At least 2 years in a generalist role and exposure to employee engagement/relations and learning & development preferred.
  • A passion for diversity and inclusion work and past experience implementing associated strategies and initiatives.
  • Experience researching/identifying/ implementing engaging performance management or leadership development programs.
  • Strong project management skills and/or experience in successfully managing the implementation of complex HR initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of general Human Resources policies and practices; familiarity with applicable federal and state employment laws.
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred. 

 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships and work collaboratively and cross-functionally with all levels of staff in a mid-size, complex and decentralized environment.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with all levels of staff in verbal, written, electronic and other communications formats. Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills; must be able to work under pressure to understand issues, make recommendations and implement resolutions quickly and professionally.
  • Ability to set and manage reasonable deadlines and expectations and shift priorities quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace change, independently plan and organize work and be productive in a fast-paced environment while efficiently and effectively handling changing priorities.
  • Must have a commitment to strict confidentiality.
